Season’s Greetings!
Season’s Greetings to all our Park community. We wish you a relaxing and enjoyable festive season as you spend time with friends and family.
This year has been kinder to us than 2023 and although we still see the impact of the cyclone throughout the Park we are pleased to have the major recovery projects behind us. As we look back to some of the highlights this year, we are pleased to have more schools joining our Schools for Trees programme, several community events held in support of the Park, and the completion of our biggest native restoration project which has seen 64,000 trees planted in the last five years.
We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has supported Te Mata Park this year – whether you planted a tree, made a donation, supported a school visit, or spread the word of our endeavours, we are immensely grateful for your support.
In particular we would like to thank:
- Our army of volunteers who turn up rain or shine, particularly the dedicated Friends of Te Mata Park and Predator Control groups
- The local businesses who support our events or provide pro bono professional services
- Hastings District Council – Te Kaunihera ā-Rohe o Heretaunga
- Hawke’s Bay Regional Council
We look forward to a busy 2025 as we continue our work to enhance and protect Te Mata Park for all to enjoy.
We wish you all the best for a relaxing festive season and hope to see you in the Park!
Ngā mihi,
Te Mata Park Trust Board
