Winter Planting Day

Join the Te Mata Park team and volunteer crew on Sunday 23 June from 8:45 – 12, for our big Winter Planting Day of 2024. We will be planting 2,000 native trees in an area five minutes walk from Main Gates car park, followed by a BBQ.

Where: meet at 08:45am at Main Gates car park (see map)
When: Sunday 23 June, 08:45am – 12pm
What to bring: gardening gloves, sturdy footwear, water bottle, spade (if you have one – pointed planting spades are best). Water and a hot drink if you need one!

What you need to know:

  • Registration is essential
  • This is a family friendly event and children are welcome. The terrain can be quite steep and uneven, young children will need to be closely supervised 
  • Everyone is welcome to join us for a sausage at Main Gates following the mahi 
  • If possible, please carpool or arrange to be dropped off, to reduce car park congestion  
  • Wet weather postponement will be advised via our Facebook page
