$25,000 gift from Jarden to aid Te Mata Park’s cyclone recovery
A generous donation from leading investment and advisory group Jarden will greatly assist with Te Mata Park’s recovery following Cyclone Gabrielle. The $25,000 donation will be used to repair and upgrade Te Mata Park’s existing water infrastructure which received some damage as a result of the cyclone. This is an essential project that will ensure the long-term sustainability of the Park’s infrastructure.
Mike Devonshire, Chair of Te Mata Park Trust, said, “We are immensely grateful to the Jarden team for this generous donation. Donations like this have enabled the Trust to tackle cyclone remediation work quickly and continue our efforts to enhance the Park for all to enjoy.”
The donation is the result of a collaboration across Jarden’s New Zealand and Australian offices that saw the company match funds raised by staff. The money is being distributed to charitable organisations in areas impacted by the cyclone, with the Jarden Hawke’s Bay team choosing Te Mata Park as one of the local recipients.
Sam Howard, Director at Jarden, said “Te Mata Park is a significant place for both our team and our clients. We saw how the Park was impacted by the cyclone and wanted to play a role in assisting with the rebuild. We’re delighted to be able to do so.”
Thank you to the Jarden team for this generous donation. If you or your company would would like to support Te Mata Park, please visit the donation page on our website or contact our Fundraising & Grants Manager Catherine Mueller.
