The Sheep Have Now Vacated The Park

September 24, 2019

Please note that as of Friday 20 September, the 725 ewes that were residing in Te Mata Park, have now been removed.  They have done a marvellous job of keeping our grass down low, in anticipation of summer.  This is extremely beneficial for reducing our fire risk.  Whilst there were a few incidences of sheep worrying, the Park Trust were generally pleased with how respectful people were of the sheep.  Note that the sheep will likely be returning to the Park in November.  Please continue to monitor your dogs.

Thank you.
