It has been nearly 3 weeks since the One Giant Chance fundraising campaign was launched, and the Te Mata Park Trust are thrilled with the community response so far.
‘’We are delighted with the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received thus far, from so many people across Hawke’s Bay. It truly has highlighted to us the depth of connection that people feel towards Te Mata Park, and how vital an asset this is for our entire community. People can see how this new land will make a considerable impact on enhancing and protecting the unique experience at Te Mata Park,’’ comments Mike Devonshire, Chairman of Te Mata Park.
‘’The Trust Board is working hard to reach out to schools, community groups, businesses, sporting organisations and local residents, to assist us in reaching our fundraising goal. We are mindful that we are working in a tight timeframe, so it’s all hands on deck with our campaign programme.’’
The Trust Board have secured several large scale pledges of support, and are confident that their total tally will continue to grow. ‘’The response has been overwhelmingly positive – people can see the long term benefits of this land acquisition, and how it will impact on our families for generations to come. We must grab the bull by the horns, and make the most of this golden opportunity,’’ adds Mr. Devonshire.
‘’There is a Givealittle page for members of the public to donate, and we encourage all levels of support from $1 to $1000, as everything counts!’’
‘’We also encourage local businesses to get involved, with all donations being eligible for a tax credit, and have a comprehensive donor acknowledgement programme in place for all large scale donations. It is really is a wonderful way to showcase your support for such an important community asset.’’
‘’We must raise the funds by the end of 2018, in order to secure this land purchase. With only 3.5 months until December 31st, we invite members of our community to be part of this journey now.’’
‘’We would also like to thank those individuals and companies who have already generously offered their support and valued donations.’’
