Drone Policy Introduced for Park

With our striking scenery and impressive vistas, it is no surprise that Te Mata Park is a hot spot for drones. Certainly drone use is visibly increasing.  And, whilst it is acknowledged that flying drones is a valid recreational activity, the Park Board have implemented an UNMANNED AIRCRAFT POLICY and consent form. It is now essential that anyone who wishes to fly a drone (or other unmanned aircraft) downloads this form, accepts the terms of use, and returns it to the Trust manager for approval.

It is not permitted to fly within the Park boundaries without consent from the Trust Board.

This policy is relevant to both commercial and recreational users of drones.

This is to ensure safety is of paramount consideration, as well as the overall satisfaction of other Park users.

Please download the consent and terms of use form here.
