For those wishing to organise events within the Park, we ask that you please read our Terms of Access . Any sporting or community event organised by third parties must have prior approval from the Te Mata Park Trust. This also applies to private events involving more than 30 people. The Trust requires a minimum of 14 days notice prior to the proposed event and there are some terms and conditions that will apply. Please complete the Booking Form and email it to Emma Buttle at Te Mata Park Trust.
The Te Mata Park Community Committee organises a number of community activities each year. Sign up for our newsletter for updates on events and news from the Park.
Weddings : Te Mata Park has been a much-loved location for wedding photographs and ceremonies for many years. Whilst the Giant Redwoods has been a favoured location, please note that as of December 2018, access is no longer available via the neighbouring 4WD track at the end of Tauroa Road. Please consider other areas within the Park (notably the Summit, the Little Redwoods or the natural ‘amphitheatre’ near the Saddle car park) for equally impressive vistas. Approval from the Trust is required for large scale gatherings – please complete the above Booking Form and return to our Manager.
Kai at the Peak – Cafe at Peak House
“The Best View in Town!” Peak House is located only a few minutes drive past the entry Gates to the Park, and is a great place to stop for a cup of coffee and cake. If you wish to book Peak House for a function, please contact Haydn Middleton here.
