Please note that Te Ihu has deteriorated further following recent rain events, with long ruts and extremely rough technical terrain. The area most affected is after the ‘wiggles’ section about a third of the way down from the top. It is very challenging to ride, and we suggest that only expert riders attempt this track until further improvements are made. If you can avoid it – please do!! Additional bike traffic will simply make it worse.
Keen to help? We will hold a working bee this coming Saturday 26th October at 1pm to fix up this section of track (as well as other trackwork). There will be a focus on getting the drainage right. Please email Emma if you can spare a few hours to assist.
Thank you. Ride safe!
Note – Te Ihu is the original mt bike track from near the summit.
